Christmas is a day where we celebrate the birth of Jesus with family and friends. A day when we reflect on what He has done for us and how much He loves us. We all enjoy decorating our homes from the outside in, bringing cheer to passers-by as they admire our Christmas decorations. I have chosen my top 7 favorite Upside Down Wine Glass Christmas Decoration Ideas that are simple and easy to do, and best of all, don’t require a lot of money.
Paint the wine glass in any color you want to use as a base. If you want to have the design be more transparent to allow for another color underneath, choose a lighter paint. Let dry completely.
Using either a stencil or your favorite font and some craft paint, create fun words and designs on the glass.
Fill the wine glass with water and add pieces of garland and ornaments. You can also add a small tree or other festive decorations.
Spray paint the wine glass in any color you want. Let dry completely. Once it’s dry, apply a sealant to help keep the paint from chipping or fading.
Add some fake snow to the wine glass and let it sit out in your house for a festive decoration.
There are many different ways to make an upside-down wine glass Christmas decoration. You can use paint, glitter, ornaments, and more to create a one-of-a-kind decoration for your home this holiday season. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
#1 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 1 is the traditional Upside Down Wine Glass Ornament. This can be done with any color of a wine glass, but I think a clear or light-colored wine glass looks best. All you need to do is spray paint the stem of the wine glass with frosted glass spray paint. Once it’s dry, anchor the wine glass firmly into some moist sand or gravel, making sure that it’s not going anywhere because the force of the water will create a strong vacuum within the glass and if it falls over, you will have a big mess on your hands! Now fill the wine glass with water and add some Christmas ornaments, making sure that they are all different sizes and shapes. I like to use a mixture of glass and plastic ornaments, as well as some fake snow or cotton wool. If you want to hang your ornament, attach some fishing line or clear thread to the top of your ornament and let it dangle down into the water. My favorite reason for doing this is that if the ornament gets knocked over, nothing will break!
#2 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 2 is one of my favorite ideas – Glow In The Dark Jellyfish Upside Down Wine Glass Decorations. All you need for this decoration is a few glow-in-the-dark sticks, which you can find at any party store or online. Cut the glow-in-the-dark sticks into small pieces and place them at the bottom of your wine glass. Make sure that they are well hidden so that they are not visible when you look into the glass. Now fill your wine glass with water and add some plastic jellyfish. I like to use different colors and sizes, but you can use any type of jellyfish that you want. Once everything is in place, turn off the lights and watch your jellyfish glow!
#3 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 3 is a very simple idea – Fake Snow Upside Down Wine Glass Decorations. This is perfect for anyone who thinks that water and wine glasses don’t mix. All you need to do is grab a nice clean, clear wine glass and pour some fake snow into the bottom of it. Now put as much as you like (or as little as you like) over the top of the snow. I have found that 3cm – 5 cm works best. If you want, you can also add some plastic icicles or glitter snowflakes. Now all you have to do is turn on your lights and watch your snow glisten in the dark!
#4 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 4 is one of the simplest ideas – Snowy Mountains Upside Down Wine Glass Decorations. This one does not require a wine glass, so you can do this with any decorative glass that you like. All you need to do is add some fake snow (fake snow is easier to use than real snow) into the bottom of your decorative glass and sprinkle over some glitter. Now turn off the lights and watch as your snowy mountain glistens in the dark! The best thing about this idea is that you can use it to decorate any type of glass or vase.
#5 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 5 is one of my favorite ideas – Fluffy Cotton Wool Upside Down Wine Glass Ornaments. This decoration mainly uses fake snow, but I have added some cotton wool to make it look even more fluffy. All you need are your wine glasses, fake snow, cotton wool, and some scissors. Cut the cotton wool into small pieces and add it to the bottom of your wine glass. Now fill your wine glass with fake snow and watch as it becomes even fluffier! If you want, you can also add some glitter or Christmas ornaments to make it look even more festive.
#6 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 6 is one of my all-time favorites – A Christmas Tree Upside Down Wine Glass Decoration. It’s as simple as it looks, but it looks great. All you need for this decoration is a wine glass, some fake snow, and a small branch or twig from a tree. If you want, you can also add some Christmas ornaments to the branch. Add the fake snow to the bottom of your wine glass and place the branch in the middle. If you want, you can also add some glitter or tinsel to the branch. Now all you have to do is turn on your lights and watch your tree come to life!
#7 DIY Christmas Decoration Idea
Number 7 is a really simple idea – A Starburst Upside Down Wine Glass Decoration. This is perfect for anyone who wants a really simple, yet elegant, decoration. All you need is a wine glass, some fake snow, and a starburst (or any other type of Christmas ornament). Add the fake snow to the bottom of your wine glass and place the starburst in the middle. Now all you have to do is turn on your lights and watch your starburst come to life!
I hope that you have found some inspiration for your Christmas decorations. Whether you are looking for a simple decoration or something more elaborate, I am sure that you will be able to find something here valuable for your Christmas decoration. Merry Christmas!
